  • Mr Rajesh Nath has more than 29 years of experience working in various industries in
  • Germany and India. He has been accorded the “Cross of the Order of Merit” – the highest
  • civilian award from the German President, for promoting Indo-German Trade-in
  • Engineering Sector. 
  • Since 2008, he is heading VDMA India as Managing Director. 
  • Mr Nath started his professional career in Germany with Rheinische Kalksteinwerke, Wülfrath where he worked from 1991 – 1993.
  • He then joined KHD Humbold Wedag, Koeln in the Environmental Technology Division and worked there from 1993 till 1997.

  • The VDMA (Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau – German Engineering Federation) is a network of more than 3,348 engineering industry companies in Germany making it one of the largest and most important industrial associations in Europe with over 450 industry experts. 
  • It was founded in 1892 and since then the engineering companies have been successfully working with us to create a powerful force to present their interests both at national and international levels. 
  • VDMA India office, acts as a “bridge-head”​ between German and Indian Industry. Besides, it serves the Indo-German economic relations in the different engineering sectors and promotes the activities of VDMA member companies in India.
  • It is the only association of its kind focussing on the Mechanical Engineering Industry and is active in various specialised sectors.

22:32- Three lessons.

  • Germans are very straightforward people. What you say must be delivered. Please don’t use the horrible ‘Jugaad’ word that Indians have taken into their lexicon conveniently. 
  • It is very important to be systematic and planned. Therefore, when you go to meetings, make sure everything is structured and well-planned. 
  • Germans welcome long-term relationships. They are warm and friendly people.
