Dov is a Partner with Shirat Enterprises, Israel which is focused on hi-tech businesses with China. He is the former Director-General of the Israeli Ministry of Trade and Industry. He is also an economist and has taught at Ben Gurion University, Israel. 

In conversation with host Ashutosh Garg, Dov shares the secrets to Israel’s booming startup industry. Profile

Dov Mishor is a long-time Israeli economist with extensive experience both in the private and the public sectors. Currently, Dov is a partner in Shirat Enterprises, an Israeli company engaged in business cooperation between Israeli Hi-Tech companies and Chinese companies. This is done, among other things, through a local subsidiary registered in Tianjin China. Dov has a Master’s degree in Economics from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Dov spent many years in senior positions in the Bank of Israel following by a special appointment as the economic adviser to the Ministry of Finance in Israel. In the years1997 through 1999 Dov served as the Director-General of the Israeli Ministry of Industry and Trade. This Ministry is in charge of policy formulation and implementation of most economic aspects of the economy:

  1. R&D including policies measures and tools related to the Israeli Hi-Tech booming sector 2.International trade
  2. Consumer protection
  3. Government incentives to the manufacturing Industry 

Dov has rich experience in the private sector serving as a board member (including chairman of audit committees, member of strategic committees, etc.) in various companies –including major banks, manufacturing industry, real estate, and software.

After leaving the post of Director-General of the Ministry Dov lectured many years in Ben Gurion University sharing his experience in courses like:

  1. The Relations between Government and Industry
  2. Foreign Trade Policy and Practice 
  3. The Impact of Globalization on the Israeli Economy. 

In 2011, Dov was a visiting lecturer at Fudan University in Shanghai, China giving a special seminar on the Israeli experience in transforming its economy from Low Tech to Hi-Tec. 

Dov has also public activities serving for several years as the President of Israel Asia Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the Advisory Committee of the Anti Trust Authority of Israel.  Currently, he is on the board of directors of the Israeli Film Fund.
