  • The dimensions of lean management is the integration from the leadership dimension to what’s going on in the shop and office floor to produce a management system that is markedly different and contrasts with the conventional way of doing things. 
  • Within the framework of lean management, people have the opportunities to pursue their ideas in ways that don’t exist under classical management. 
  • When people recognize problems, they are then empowered to think of ways to eliminate those problems to improve the processes to come up with creative ideas to improve the overall work environment. 

[06:31] – What is the importance of leadership when it comes to a successful implementation of lean management?

  • Leadership and team engagement is fundamental. 
  • The transition from classical management, which is the old way of doing things to lean management, which is a progressive way of doing things requires many things to change and leaders must lead those many changes.
  • The participation of individuals is crucial for driving the necessary changes when leadership is absent.
