Overview

The workforce has changed post the pandemic, where people are consciously making choices to do purpose-driven work. They no longer want to be controlled by the managers with performance objectives as a sole vision. Organizations are striving towards creating a balance of flexibility and discipline. A collaborative work performance in such an environment can be achieved only by promoting connections among people in the organization and building trust in each other. In today’s episode, we discuss the changing face of the workforce and their expectations, and how organizations can strive to fulfill those while achieving their set vision and mission.

[00:37] – About Cecile Moulard

  • Cecile is the founder and chief executive officer of MixR, which is designed to help organizations build exceptional company cultures and keep people connected
  • In her words, she is a fierce Kundalini yoga teacher.

[07:29] – What are some of the challenges that you have seen and how are you handling these through MixR?

  • The biggest challenge that I see is “The Great Resignation”.
  • We are at a time that is so fascinating for an entrepreneur or manager leader. People are changing their expectations.
  • They don’t want what they had before. They want something new. Furthermore, they don’t know exactly what they want, but they know what they don’t want.
  • What we want to bring to the table is “The Great Reconnection”.
  •  We want to heal in some ways the great resignation by offering a way to reconnect at a much deeper level.
  • The belief here is that if people know and trust each other, then it will be easier for them to work, co-create and collaborate with each other in the organization.
  • People today want a purpose, and they want to understand why they’re doing what they’re doing.
  • With MixR, we offer them a way to reconnect with each other.
  • You have a team, and in order for a team to work, you need to have a certain type of people in the team. If you miss someone, the task cannot be completed properly.
  •  We’re coming up with a totally different approach where people need to find interests that they share, and they can create communities around those interests.
  • Next time there’s a change happening in the organization you’re a lot more resilient when in your organization you have this circle of trust everywhere and so it allows our organization to be a lot more resilient in the long run.

[12:22] – What does the word Community move to you and to MixR?

  • The way we define community is network plus care.
  • This notion of care is what changes everything. Behind care, you have the notion of support, shared experience, and emotional commitment versus productivity.
  •  Community is a natural complement to teams, and it’s not going against teams.
  • We need teams to decide and implement, and we need the community to be alive as an organization.
