01:39- Do you have your career all planned out?
I have set goals, but a lot of decisions in my career ahead are going to have an impact on their achievements. But, I am definitely trying to improve the chances of their accomplishments, to reach the ultimate goal of becoming an astronaut. Trying to keep the score high while also finishing private pilot’s license, being part of Wing’s Aerospace Pathways Program which allows me to work with satellites, are all small steps towards the achievement of the main goal.
03:34- How did it all start?
It didn’t start with one main event, but many small events. Being a kid, while other kids loved dressing up as princesses I loved dressing up as a pilot, scientist or an astronaut. Having the passion for it attracted my attention towards various programs such as Young Eagles or Glider Scholarship. Persistence and support from a lot of different people helped me get my private pilot’s license.
05:20- Has anyone in the family been an inspiration for getting attracted towards being a pilot or an astronaut?
My cousin who’s an aerobatic pilot once took me up to check my limits in a pressured aircraft. Contrary to what he expected, I rather enjoyed my ride without throwing up.
9:45- Is it the thrill of flying or the technology that attracts you the most?
Being able to see something so high-tech and how it has progressed over time is something I find very impressive.
10:48- What if you fail to accomplish what you’ve dreamt of? What would that mean to you?
It wouldn’t mean that I have failed entirely because on my path to achieving my ultimate goal, the diverse experience that I am gaining makes me very marketable for various work forces. So even if the main goal is not achieved, there would be so many things I can still do in the field of aviation.
13:27- Who are your main role models?
My mother and my cousin are the two main role models. My mother supported me throughout. She encourages me whenever I feel like giving up. While my cousin showed me the way to realize my dream.
18:40- What inspires you?
The thrill of exploring new things, and experiencing things that are a little out of the world. Especially when you’re flying and you look at the ground from a whole different angle it gives a whole new light to what more can be accomplished.
25:06 – What would your advice be to the people around you, young and old ?
Never Give up. Also, remember, never hesitate to ask a question about things that make you curious, people actually love answering such questions.
25:47- Will trips to the Moon and Mars become a reality?
It would be a reality soon as there are programs working to send people to the moon as well as setting up camps on the moon to send rockets from the moon to Mars. So it’ll be a reality very soon.
26:34- When are you going to be there?
Hopefully in a few years.
