Swati is not only a very senior professional belonging to the finance sector but also a passionate exponent of the Bharatanatyam dance form! She has worked as a Chartered Accountant for over two decades. She is currently the Senior Director, Finance, with Flipkart. She has worked as a finance leader with some very well-known brands and businesses like Vodafone, Johnson, and Johnson, etc. As a practitioner and appreciator of Bharatanatyam, she has performed all over the world from a young age. And has spread the aura of storytelling through the beautiful art form. In conversation with host Ashutosh Garg, Swati shares the journey of her success and the milestones that have led her to be the person she is today! Swati talks about performing Bharatanatyam at a very young age on international platforms and being exposed to the diverse cultures of the world. She believes that people across borders, appreciating the Indian Culture led her to pursue Bharatanatyam with a more determined mindset! She talks about the cultural diversity in the country and the cultural acceptance that is yet to take place. Talking about her financial career, she talks widely about the role of a Chief Financial Officer in a business/company. She believes engaging with fellow employees is the key to a good CFO. Here is my story of How I chose to balance Profession & Passion by adopting dynamic prioritization every day, to make the two fields walk hand in hand. And in the journey, gained immense learning & experience from each of these specialised unique field, to strengthen leadership traits, spontaneity & creativity. I’m a Bengali, born and brought up in Delhi. I did my early days of school at Rukmini Devi Jaipuria Public School and then moved to Bal Bharti Public School. Always been in the Topper section in Academics and used to represent the school in many extra-curricular Interschool events. My dream was to get into Shri Ram College of Commerce since I was in 8th Grade. So, it was a wonderful journey during schooling, to work towards that goal, which I achieved in 1994. I’m a proud SRCC Alumni (1997 batch), and extremely honored to be recognized as ‘Distinguished Alumni’ 2019 by the esteemed college Alumni panelists, for 2 prestigious categories of ‘CFO’ and ‘Arts’, where the prestigious award was conferred by the Finance Icon himself, eminent Alumnus Honourable Former Union Finance Minister Late Shri Arun Jaitley. Post my graduation, I pursued my dream of becoming a CA. I qualified as a Chartered Accountant from the prestigious Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Delhi (Nov 2000).
