06:04- Tell me about Seva Global and your motivation to start this venture.

  • I have always had an underlying entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Marriott International was very kind to give me an opportunity to be an entrepreneur in a large corporation.
  • Seva is a Sanskrit word that means ‘the act of selfless service’.
  • Seva Global offers a wide array of services to foster cultural competence across organizations. 
  • Through our customized solutions and consultations, we can help to increase employee engagement, enhance customer experience, and drive bottom-line results.
  • During the pandemic, in a 14-year corporate career, I could go home and do Seva for my mom and dad.
  • It’s a reminder to do a little Seva for somebody whether it’s your parents, elders, or your community so that’s how the name came.

12:01- How do you measure the success of the cultural competency initiatives, and what metrics do you use to track progress?

  • We ask our clients for success stories.
  • We leave it to our clients to tell us what their reports are.
  • For some, the metrics could be customer satisfaction, and for some, it could be revenue numbers.

22:51- Three lessons

  • Always believe in yourself. If you do not believe in yourself, no one else will.
  • Stay true to yourself. Be authentic, genuine, and humble.
  • Whatever you are doing, always maintain cultural sustainability. Be inclusive.
