  • I am a winner of the Entrepreneur of the Year in 2016, Exporter of the Year and the Gold Award in the large category awarded by the Women’s Chamber of Industry & Commerce, 
  • Also holds an award of Women in Management IT Leader of the year in 2016.
  • Winner of the female ICT Leader of the year 2014, awarded by the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL), and selected to the 50 most powerful women in business awarded by the Echelon Magazine in 2014.

  • ESG compliance refers to the understanding of the ESG guidelines mandated by countries, regulatory bodies and frameworks, and the act of implementing them in internal policies and practices
  • Greenwashing is when an organization spends more time and money marketing itself as environmentally friendly than minimizing its environmental impact. 
  • It’s a deceitful marketing gimmick intended to mislead consumers who prefer to buy goods and services from environmentally conscious brands.

  • It aims to accelerate economic and social development in its member states through increased intra-regional cooperation.

40:11- What is ICTA? What is its purpose?

  • The information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) of Sri Lanka is the apex ICT institution of the Government. 
  • ICTA is required to assist the Cabinet of Ministers in formulating the National Policy on ICT and provide all information necessary for its formulation. 
  • ICTA is a wholly owned institution by the Government of Sri Lanka, which was formulated and operationalised to implement the e-Sri Lanka Development Project funded by the World bank from 2004 to 2011. 
  • Through the e-Sri Lanka Development Project, ICT was to be used to develop the economy of Sri Lanka, reduce poverty and improve the quality of life of the people of Sri Lanka. 
  • Due to the significant progress made in the nation and its society by ICTA, the Government understood its significance and need for ICTA’s permanent existence, and the sunset clause of the ICT Act of 2003 was amended in 2008.

  • Challenges make you an achiever. Being interested in accepting challenges is the key to achieving everything. Everything is a challenge until you fix it. 
  • You have to let go of things. If you are a seller for too long, your company will not grow. We have to delegate our work and let other people do things. 
  • Go out and do the most significant thing you can. Coming from a small nation doesn’t mean that you have to take smaller steps. 

55:55- What are your personal goals?

  • We could be a driver of Carbon and ESG. We have access to keep influential people aware. This is my primary goal but not the ultimate one.
  • I keep changing my goal.
