Bernie was born in Hong Kong and went abroad to attend Deerfield Academy in the United States at the age of 16. He graduated from Harvard University magna cum laude in Economics and East Asian studies. Upon graduation, Bernie joined his family business, Computime Group Limited, a publicly listed intelligent control company based in Hong Kong that operates in 14 countries globally. He became the CEO in 2002 and brought the company public in 2006. Bernie left Computime and founded Vida Nova Ventures in 2009. Vida Nova is a direct investment company that focuses on media, electronics and technology companies in China, Hong Kong and the US. He was also the Co-founder and CEO of Altis Zenus Group, a global brand and product company that designs and distributes consumer and commercial electronic products under global brands such as Cobra, Motorola, DeWalt and Craftsman.
