Lavanya is a Partner at Trifecta Activity and the Former Managing Director at Private Equity Goldman Sachs. Lavanya brings many years worth of experience in Equity Funds and Debt. Lavanya starts off by sharing the three key milestones in her life. She shares with us how working at Goldman Sachs at the beginning of her career set her on the right path to achieve her goals. She is now a partner at her own company called Trifecta Activity. She explains the difference between Equity Fund and Venture Debt Fund for our viewers. She also gives us her insights into when a company should start to scale up. According to her, when a company has an enduring business model and has proven its value to the customers, that is when they should scale up. Lavanya Ashok is a Partner at Trifecta Equity Fund. She joined Trifecta Capital to co-lead the launch of the New Economy Leaders Fund in October 2020. Prior to joining Trifecta, she was Managing Director, Private Equity at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in their Principal Investment Area (PIA) till September 2020. She joined GS as an analyst in 2004 in New York and re-joined the firm in Mumbai in 2010 – across these stints, she has spent over 12 years with GS. At GS, Lavanya has focused on investments across sectors including consumer internet, healthcare, financial services, auto and logistics. She has lifecycle growth equity investing experience and has successfully exited Goldman’s investments in M&M, Max India and TVS Logistics. Lavanya led GS’ investments in Cytecare, Azure Hospitality, and Pepperfry.com and served on the boards of all these companies.
