The Brand Called You welcomes Ms Sonali Patankar on the podcast today. Sonali is the Founder of Responsible Netism. She is also the President of Ahan Foundation. Sonali is in conversation with host Ashutosh Garg about her professional journey and the work she does to protect minors from cybercrimes. Sonali takes the audience through some very basic aspects of cyberbullying and internet addiction. She throws light on the dangerous intensity of wrongful usage of the internet. Her non-profit, Responsible Netism is an initiative set up for promoting cyber wellness and responsible behaviour; and online protection of children and adults. Sonali gives some very important takeaways for parents and how they can protect their children from cybercrime. She believes that children need to have parental controls on their devices and that parents need to be very careful of the content their kids consume from the internet on a daily basis. She talks about adult online gaming and its increasing use by underage kids. While Sonali believes that the internet is a boon to our generation, she also strongly suggests controlled and responsible usage. Her advice to the parents is to reach out for help if their kids display unhealthy internet behaviour.
