  • The Resilience Institute was founded in 2002 by a medical doctor, Dr. Sven Hansen in New Zealand.
  • We deliver high-impact, practical, evidence-based, and integrated resilience training. 
  • Our tools and program bring together modern preventative medicine, positive psychology, emotional intelligence, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), neuroscience, and high-performance sport.

  • At the Resilience Institute, we define resilience as a learned competency for individuals, leaders, and organizations. 
  • We divide it into four key segments: the ability to bounce forward, the ability to grow as an individual, the ability to connect with others, and the ability to find flow.

  • When I say workplace, I mean the environment where people come together to work and achieve common goals. 
  • Resilience is an important factor in the workplace as it impacts four key domains of growth: how people feel, how much stress they experience, their physical energy and momentum, and their overall well-being. 
  • Emotional intelligence is crucial in building resilience as it focuses on the dynamic space in an organization. 
  • In order to build resilience, we need to create a sense of psychological safety, where people feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and concerns with others. 
  • This helps to avoid issues and enables individuals to work together effectively. 
  • Empathy is also significant in building resilience as it allows us to understand and meet the emotional needs of our colleagues. 
  • Lastly, creating a positive culture and promoting positive leadership can help foster a positive mindset across teams and ultimately build resilience in the workplace.
