00:40- Tell me in brief about your corporate journey.

  • I started as an HR person at SBI Capital Markets and later worked at Grindlays Bank.
  • After taking a break I worked in diversity and inclusion at Unilever, as the global lead for diversity.
  • Later shifted to executive coaching and started CEO.works.
  • I learned the importance of work as an identity and the need for a deeper understanding of human capital.

04:38- What was your motivation to become an entrepreneur?

  • I noticed a gap in the HR function in helping CEOs with talent management.
  • There was a need for new methodologies.
  • Sandy Ogg and I refounded CEO.works with a focus on talent to value. 
  • The timing felt right, as I was an empty nester and wanted to use my resources for something meaningful.

08:02- How has the HR function changed over the years?

  • HR has evolved over time and it started with fighting the war for talent at the entry level and focused mostly on the supply side.
  • The needs for talent in organizations are constantly changing and HR needs to keep up.
  • Aligning the HR and talent strategies with the ambition of the organization is crucial for success.
  • This journey of connecting HR and talent to value creation has just begun for the HR function.

14:47- How is technology changing human resources?

  • Technology has transformed from a tool for efficiency to a tool for democratization and now to a tool for decision-making and innovation.
  • I recognize that technology is not always a perfect solution and one must be mindful of its limitations. 
  • Technology is still developing and improving, but it is fascinating to see its impact in the disruptive and innovative space.
