03:57- Tell me a little bit about the background of the women’s movement in Iran.

  • Most people have a misconception about that. When the revolution happened it was about democracy and not about religion.
  • During the revolution, they forced women to wear hijabs which led people to believe that women there are very religious.
  • Instead, women, there have a 98% literacy rate, they are smart, and they want to self-actualize, but they don’t even have their basic rights yet

10:23- What do you think should be done to address this ongoing conflict?

  • One of the things that India can do is support democracy because they are the largest democracy in the world.
  • One of the important steps in dealing with the conflict is to halt the flow of funds to them which can be done by stopping trade with them.
  • What India and China can do is they can stop buying oil from Iran so that they can stop their activities financially.

15:02- What challenges do you think Iran faces in terms of their youth development?

  • Over 60% of Iran’s population is under the age of 30 and baby boomers are only 5% of their population.
  • They have a very major chunk of their population who are in their youth and unable to self-actualize because of the lack of economic opportunities.
  • They have a 98% literacy rate, and they expect their people to not speak up and stay in the cage that they have built for them. They are just destroying the potential they have as a country.
