[00:47] About FutureXL
- FutureXL is a high-tech consultancy company that combines business acumen and technology acumen in providing data-centric operating models for incumbent companies.
- We don’t work for startups or scale-ups, we only work for large incumbent companies and help them become data-centric.
[01:35] What is the quintessence of data-centricity?
Every company has so much data, but it does not bring any value. It is difficult to explore where the valuable data is in order to use it to create value.
[04:35] What is the meaning of Digital Transformation 4.0?
Before the pandemic, we all invested in digital transformation 1.0 which was the digitization of current operating models and business models. It does not provide any value.
Digital Transformation 4.0 is leapfrogging over a process in trying to achieve something. It is about a holistic approach. Data centricity creates business value in a shorter period of time. It is leaping into the future because we do not have time or money anymore.
[06:36] Why is I.T. the culprit of digital transformation failure?
The fact is that I.T. does not understand the business. Today. I.T. has become a commodity, it is cheap. You can decomplex and demystify the role of I.T. and focus on real business issues.
[14:25] Privacy being handled by tech companies
One of the few good things that the EU has done is providing new legislation on protecting the individual. Since we are the largest economical zone in the world, that gives us a lot of power. In an application-centric environment where the data is scattered over thousands of applications, you will never be able to reach a notion of accountability in order to become compliant. The only way to achieve compliance is to become data-centric.
