[04:11] – Can you share some insights on some digital transformation initiatives that are being taken?
- We are witnessing numerous transformation initiatives taking place, such as the UAE being the first country to establish a dedicated minister for artificial intelligence.
- Several initiatives, including AI strategy, innovation strategy, and the establishment of new councils and committees, have been implemented in relation to digital transformation.
- With the introduction of the AI strategy, every entity was required to undertake two to three AI-related initiatives. This is where my role comes into play, brainstorming and exploring use cases for emerging technology within our industry. Policy plays a significant role in driving these efforts.
[08:51] – During your tenure with the government, what are some notable successful digital transformation projects that have been implemented?
- One remarkable project that stands out is the UAE Pass, which serves as a single identity for individuals.
- Previously, people had to manage multiple login credentials for various government services.
- Now, it’s as simple as using your fingerprint and linking it to your mobile number. This integration allows you to have the same login credentials across all government entity websites you visit.
- Previously, individuals had to physically visit government entities, sit in front of a lawyer or notary service, and sign documents such as Memorandum of Association.
- However, with the UAE Pass, these processes are no longer necessary. It enables digital signatures, allowing two people to sign documents simultaneously.
