  • I always wanted to be a doctor, and my passion for chemistry led me to study pharmacology. 
  • The fascinating process of molecules transforming in the body intrigued me, and I pursued a career in clinical and regulatory affairs. 
  • Unexpectedly, I found an opportunity at BDC to invest in healthcare startups and support innovative solutions for kidney patients. 
  • It all came together, aligning with my passions and allowing me to work with remarkable entrepreneurs in the Canadian ecosystem.

  • BDC is a large organization that supports entrepreneurs across Canada, primarily focusing on small and medium-sized businesses. 
  • It was established in the 1940s to provide financing to entrepreneurs who didn’t meet traditional banking requirements. 
  • As a Crown Corporation, our mandate is to identify market gaps and support Canadian entrepreneurs. 
  • We operate as a business, making good financial decisions while returning capital to the government. 
  • Our goal is to achieve sustainable profitability and contribute to a strong Canadian economy.
