[00:35] – About  Jeanne Lim

  • She is the co-founder and CEO of beingAI limited.
  • She’s the former CEO and Chief Marketing Officer of Hanson robotics.
  • She’s also the chairperson of the advisory board of the Cathy and Hall, sphere foundation.

13:42-How do you see different people’s avatars interacting with one another?

  • In AI, we have a three-step process.
  • We’re creating ZD as her non-player character avatar. So it’s like you’re reading a fiction book, she’s a fictional character.
  • We have her interact in real-time with people, not just verbally, but also non-verbally, and she could perceive your emotions.
  • We are building a platform that enables her.
  • We’re also building a studio that enables people to create their characters and stories.
  • Our moonshot goal is to create an AI being that has morality, a different personality that has all these shared experiences that they learned from people in the world, and can inspire us to be wiser and kinder to each other.

08:58- How will some digital challenges be handled by different companies?

  • I guess one of the key things is data privacy.
  •  Because right now you walk out, and it’s nature and nobody is tracking you if you didn’t bring your phone or your trackable device.
  •  But in the Metaverse, everything is virtual.
  • You could imagine if you throw your litter in the metaverse, that’s going to be recorded on the blockchain. So I think data privacy is really important.
  • You have to be aware of what information you’re giving up when you are around the metaverse, and you have to be aware of who is controlling it and how they’re going to use it.

07:36- How will the metaverse impact our lives?

  • So yes, the metaverse has an opportunity to just disrupt everything that we’re doing, living, working, and playing.
  • The internet was just like a brochure, where you just wait for the information. It’s just information.
  • In web 2.0 instead of just reading about the tree, you would go to a tree and then take a selfie and share it on your social media.
  • With the metaverse, you get to have an immersive experience with a tree, you could be the tree. Because it doesn’t say that the avatar needs to be you.
  •  You could be an animal, you could be a tree and experience what it feels like to have somebody hug you. That’s the kind of immersive experience that the metaverse could offer.
