01:00- What got you into technology?

  • I’ve always been passionate about technology and I graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
  • In those days, you could at best get an electrical engineering degree, but I spent most of my time in the computer center.
  • Once I graduated the first job I got was as a management trainee.
  • I left them, and then I spent close to about 10 years with the TATA.
  • I became the Divisional Manager then the General Manager of the Business Systems Division. That’s when my career in technology really blossomed.

16:58- How, or when can they start to create an avatar?

  • I have an avatar for my LinkedIn. You can fashion it and customize it.
  • It is just free because they give you that access to that technology, but you can also buy.

19:18- How is the Indian Corporate Sector adapting to the metaverse, and what are the opportunities for them?

  • At the present moment a lot of them especially in the consumer goods, the retail services, the entertainment, they’re all looking at metaverse as a viable option.
  • They’re looking at how they can make their products and their services much more attractive.

23:52- Three lessons

  • Technology has the shelf life of a banana.
  • Technology is an enabler.
  • We must learn to manage technology for the good in line with our values.
