[00:34] – About Troy Mansell

  • Troy is the co-founder and director of Benny Button, a wellness focused organisation.
  • He has also spent 20 years with the media industry.

[05:02] – What is the gap in the wellness market that you are addressing through Benny Button?

  • One of the biggest gaps was convincing leaders that wellbeing was good for business and not just good for people.
  • There was a lack of data out there that could prove that.
  • The gap that we identified as our biggest opportunity initially was to provide leaders with good data about their business when it came to well being.
  • We, however, also focused on how it actually influenced performance outcomes as well.

[08:02] – What are some challenges that you are addressing in the wellness corporate market in Australia?

  • Stress is the first component.
  • That includes workplace stress and the stress of people being overloaded with work life demands.
  • We are helping people develop an upgraded mindset about understanding stress and turning it into a positive thing in their life.
  • Another workplace challenge is burnout.
  • It is now being experienced by about close to 30% of all workers.
  • The leaders who are experiencing burnout don’t know how to manage burnout of their people.
  • It’s a bit of a vicious cycle here.
  • Another area is psychosocial risk factors.

[22:33] – Three wellness tips for the audience.

  • Understand who you are and what makes you unique.
  • Check in regularly on yourself.
  • Focus on one thing for your well being and see that you are doing it well.
