[06:41] – How can readers apply your advice about resilience and bouncing back from adversity in their own lives?

  • In terms of resilience and staying well, there are three important outcomes for us to pursue. 
  • The first is vitality. 
  • Second is intimacy, which is our physical and mental well being.
  • Our physical well being comes from exercise, good rest, good food, intimacy. 
  • Our emotional well being are the people around us. They can act like our scaffolding when things go wrong.
  • The third part is prosperity and that’s our contribution, energy and resilience that comes together. 

[13:17] – How do you define resilience?

  • You have to be more insulated from setbacks and disappointments.
  • There are things you can do to boost your mood when you have a setback.
  • Resilience is consciously doing things that help and enhance your mood.
  • Harvard Business Review tells us that if we’re in a positive mood, we will be 31%, more productive, 37% more influential and 300% more creative.

  • The first is caring, which includes both self-care and caring for those around us. 
  • The second thing is to be helpful.
  • The third thing is to be persistent to learn and grow.
