Overview

“One line that is engraved in my heart is-

What you give is what you get!”

In a technologically driven environment and speeding economy, we seldom take a break to comprehend the consequences of our actions on nature. Our daily paper usage is considerably high. Most paper companies stick to the traditional paper making process ie. by the cutting of trees.

However, modern technology and the age old method of making recycled paper is making a comeback in the business. Handmade papers are in high demand and are also a very efficient alternative to the traditional method.

With the market being taken over by the Millennials and the Gen Z consumers, environment friendly options are being considered. People are slowly making conscious efforts to do their bit for the environment.

One such woman who changed the game with recycling of paper and environment friendly products, is Pinky Maheshwari.

Pinky is the Co Founder of Surprise Someone, a venture that produces paper out of cotton rags and waste cotton. Her company even uses seeds in the paper making process. Pinky believes that the amount of harm we cause to the environment by constant consumption of fresh papers is alarming. She encourages the use of recycled paper which is an eco friendly and responsible option.

And we can’t deny! Recycled paper does have that additional pleasing aesthetic to it. And not to mention the handmade bonus. Each paper is unique in its own way!

Surprise Someone  makes recycled handmade paper which requires the cutting of zero trees! They have crafted 1200+ products that can actually be grown into plants.

Their unique and out of the box tagline-

Why throw when you can grow?

Says everything about this environment friendly brand.

Her inspiration to start this venture has a very cute and innocent back story! Starting with one paper bag that she sold at Rs.10, Pinky has reached a position where she sold one lakh paper bags last year itself.

Her venture has been a great success and she has managed to make people switch to naturally benefitting options. Pinky strongly believes that instead of just talking about climate change, more and more people should take action and do their part in protecting nature. To her, the pandemic is a wakeup call for us to realise the harm we have caused to the environment. In true sense, we are the real virus!

Apart from her business, Pinky is also a practitioner of Pranic healing. She talks about the benefits of pranic healing and the importance of a collected mind and good energy.

Tune in to this amazing episode with Pinky and Ashutosh exchanging some very important thoughts about climate, the corporate world, the importance of failure and a lot more!
