As a personal branding expert, Prof Garg highlights some very important factors of creating a personal brand. He believes that ethics play a very important role in personal branding. Working under a set of core values and working with authenticity is a major defining aspect of one’s personal brand.
Prof Garg talks about the ‘real’ leaders. He explains that anybody can take leadership goals and have people follow them. But what is more important is the respect and image one creates outside of the workplace. He defines pseudo leadership.
Prof Garg also highlights the importance of social media in branding. He believes that while social media can act as a catalyst, it is also a major distraction. For professionals, he strongly stands by LinkedIn.
Prof Garg believes that personal branding is something that can be cultivated from a young age. It is not necessary that we work on our personal brand post a certain age. He gives us an incredible insight into building a strong personal brand.
