  • Growing up in a family that valued both science and the arts, I learned the importance of being creative and making a meaningful impact. 
  • Inspired by my ancestor, I understood the power of persistence and thinking outside the box. 
  • Working in radiology, I witnessed the need for improved diagnostic accuracy, which sparked my interest in utilizing machine learning and AI. 
  • Collaborating with 9/11 first responders, I realized the importance of proactive healthcare and gained their trust through genuine dedication. 
  • My interdisciplinary educational background at Hopkins, spanning computer science, biomedical informatics, anthropology, and sociology, further deepened my understanding of the human dimension in decision-making processes. 
  • Today, I advocate for a human-centered approach to AI, emphasizing downstream impact and problem-solving for the benefit of people’s lives.

25:06- In your current work, do you engage in discussions or collaborate with professionals in the quantum field or semiconductor industry to further your objectives?

  • Yes, I do engage with professionals in the quantum field. In fact, right after our call, I have a discussion scheduled with an investor who specializes in seed funding for quantum projects. 
  • I am actively exploring how quantum computing and quantum applications can enhance the synthesis and scaling process in our work. 
  • While we are not there yet, I firmly believe that quantum will become a core technology in the future, although it may still be a few years away.

45:56- What do you believe will be the emerging trends and breakthroughs for the year 2025?

  • In my opinion, I believe that integrating quantum computing to enhance decision-making, drug discovery, and material discovery will be a significant trend in 2025. 
  • Additionally, I see a strong focus on material science, particularly in the area of water purification, desalination, and reuse. 
  • Water, being essential for both humans and the environment, holds great importance in addressing pollution and ensuring clean drinking water for all.
