Anand shares the pivotal moments in his life that led him to the successful career he has today, becoming a father was one of them. He then shares his journey of becoming financially independent at the age of 30. He talks about how he was able to do it by lowering his aspirations and following his true passion without keeping money in his mind and this has worked out great for him!

Anand talks to us about IndiaQuotient. IndiaQuotient is an investment company that provides funds to domestic entrepreneurs and helps them grow their businesses. “It stands for a better understanding of India,” in the words of Anand. He then tells us that a venture capitalist business is a service business where his only role in growing the business is providing the finance, “Founder is the King.” Anand believes that the entrepreneur is the true King. 

Anand has been helping grow businesses for many years, he shares his wisdom with us by telling us the basic mistakes made by startup entrepreneurs. According to Anand, a startup entrepreneur must enter a market, not with a motive to prove himself but to fulfill the needs/wishes of the consumers. He also talks about the idle time spent on futile things while starting a business, like office decor, or collecting a great team of members, instead of building a great product. Before India Quotient, he bet his farm (literally) on angel investment in Rebel Foods, one of the largest cloud kitchens in the world. Earlier, he was a partner at Seedfund, known for its exits in Carwale and Redbus. He co-founded an ed-tech company which he exited in 2005. His Twitter handle says it all: ‘Entrepreneur is the king. Not the  VC.’ He feels that leading the simple, Indian middle-class life is an investor’s superpower.
