Overview

Most people are not doing the best work of their life that they can be doing and not a lot of people are satisfied with their work either. Often people don’t even know how they can do better work. We frequently need a coach or a mentor to guide us in our lives. Today we have Cherie with us to tell us about how she is helping people do the best work of their lives.

About Cherie Mylordis

  • She is the founder of nextgenify and a work futurist.
  • She is a transformation and innovation coach.
  • She is a business transformation and innovation expert.
  • She also worked on the organizing committee of the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

02:06- What do you mean when you say you are on a mission to reimagine work for a better world?

  • I have two bold claims to make, first is that we are in the evolution of work and I also think the future of work is already here.
  • One of its examples is a conglomerate in the Philippines which is working towards transforming its internal executives into entrepreneurs and innovators.
  • One of their teams has just launched an amazing agritech initiative in which they provide the farmers with solar-powered cold storage units to preserve their produce for longer.

07:02- Tell me a little bit about the work you are doing as a work futurist.

  • I am really curious about what it takes for people to do their best work and also what work they would take on if they could give their best.
  • This is what I try to enable people to do when I work with teams. I try to make them work to the best of their abilities and choose the best issue that they can work on.
  • Less than one-third of the people say that they are doing their best work. I really try to help them see what they can’t see so that they can be more fulfilled with their work.

16:41- What is the unique perspective that you bring to a coaching relationship?

  • I have worked in various fields having various roles which have enabled me to get a very practical perspective on situations.
  • I have dropped the jargon and work in a very organic way, but it is inspired by having in-depth knowledge across all the fields.
  • I use another term, working out loud and what that means is we collaborate with each other very well, and it is as transparent as possible.
