03:30- What was your motivation to set up the Morris Institute of Human values?
- The Morris Institute for Human Values is an independent network for the discovery and promulgation of practical wisdom.
- Its philosophers are among the most popular public speakers to business and industry associations and serve top executives across industries with ideas that have stood the test of time.
- The institute extends its mission of bringing wisdom to life through the novel ideas of several internationally respected philosophers and practical thinkers as well as through the publishing initiative and imprint of Wisdom/Works.
18:17- Tell us about If Aristotle Ran General Motors & Are they all named with philosophers?
- In the book If Aristotle Ran General Motors, I explain how business organizations can thrive in modern society.
- I review how these entities can succeed if they followed the wisdom of great philosophers like Aristotle.
- The term ‘General Motors’ is used in general to represent modern-day businesses. It is not used about the company that goes by that name.
13:25- Tell us about your book –Plato’s Lemonade Stand: Stirring Change into Something Great & Your Hypothesis.
- Most of us grew up hearing the old advice, “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.” But typically, no one says how.
- I’ve searched the wisdom of great philosophers throughout the centuries to see if they had any advice for great lemonade making, and was delightfully surprised at what I discovered.
- It turns out that there is an art of change, or transformation, composed of three parts.
- These are the secrets to the spiritual process the ancients knew of as alchemy.
23:25- What three lessons do you want our listeners and views to learn from your experience and our conversation?
- Get advice from other people and soak in wisdom.
- Live your life as a series of adventures. Don’t worry about failure while doing something new.
- Bring love into everything that you are doing.
