Today on our podcast, we have a very senior professional from the social sector, Sudhir Katiyar in conversation with our host Ashutosh Garg. Sudhir works for the Prayas Centre for Labour Research and Action. From being an engineering student to working for the betterment of the labour class in India, his journey has been an inspiration for everyone. Sudhir talks to us about his work at the Institute of Rural Management Anand. He then tells us about Prayas and how it helps the informal/migrant workers in India to document them and make them registered so that they can enjoy the rights given by our law to the labourers. Prayas also trains the labourers and unions to demand their rights, it educates them with labour laws and leadership lessons. He then informs us about the challenges faced by Prayas in helping the informal sector, saying that the attitude of the society towards the labourers is one of the many challenges.
