06:15- What are the major mental health challenges we are facing?

  • The pandemic has exacerbated things but mental health has always been stigmatized. 
  • Depression, anxiety, adult ADHD, attention deficit, and hyperactivity disorder, are highly prevalent. 
  • People with schizophrenia, who are psychotic, dealing with delusions and hallucinations are highly discussed among people. 
  • Statistics show in the US, 10 people have depression, and only 2 get treated. 

 11:05- What are the symptoms a parent should be watching out for?

  • Change in their behaviour.
  • Drop in grades can be another indication.
  • Kids look more withdrawn, have less eye contact, not wanting to talk to people, and getting easily irritable.
  • The dramatic change in their sleep patterns, eating patterns, and energy level. 
  • Most importantly, if they say they are depressed, take it seriously. 

18:35- What was your hypothesis when you started to write a book?

  • Many think the future of work is about better technology. Work Smart: Use Your Brain and Behaviour to Master the Future of Work, is about being a better human.
  • You will learn a little science about how human brains and behaviour work, and you will learn a lot about how the workplace can be better.
  • This book will leave you with a passion and excitement for creating a new workplace that is more humanistic and equitable. 
  • Ultimately, Work Smart is your tool to work smarter rather than work harder.
  • In this book, you will: Learn how to manage your time aggressively and intentionally; how to cultivate empathy and challenge assumptions; Relearn how to communicate in the digital age.
  • Work Smart is about how we can use an understanding of the human brain and behaviour to infuse humanism into our workplace today.

  • Your brain is part of your body and vice versa. So, take care of it well. 
  • Be a better human being and listen well because listening is critical for us to connect with people. 
  • We all crave connections, therefore, infuse more humanism into our lives.
