John Baldoni is a globally-recognized leadership educator, certified Master Corporate Executive Coach, and author of 15 books that have been translated into 10 languages.
John has taught what it means to inspire at the top of a mountain in the Canadian Rockies. At sea level in Orlando, Florida, John spoke to nearly one thousand USAF/JAG commissioned and non-commissioned officers on leadership and communication. And his book, Lead Your Boss, was hailed by Harvard Business Review as a “guide that provides useful advice… [and] is encouraging and inspirational.”
In 2021, the International Federation of Learning and Development named John a World-Class Mentor and named him to its Hall of Fame. Also in 2021, Global Gurus ranked John a Top 20 global leadership expert, a list he has been on since 2007. In 2018 Inc.com named John a Top 100 speaker and Trust Across America honored John with its Lifetime Achievement Award for Trust. In 2014 Inc.com listed John as a Top 50 leadership expert.
John is also a member of the renowned Marshall Goldsmith 100 coaches, a group of executive coaches and thought leaders from the worlds of business, academia and social service.
John’s thought leadership is reflected in his writing as well as his choice of media: columns, videos and books. John also integrates piano improvisations into his keynotes which he illustrates with his still life photos. John is the host of LinkedIn Live’s GRACE under pressure interview series, a platform that has enabled him to interview more a hundred global business, academic and thought leaders and doers.
John began his business career in a fifteenth-floor office with a view of a private golf course. Around the corner was a commanding view of the Pacific Ocean. In between was a recording studio where John produced and edited corporate radio spots. But John gave that all up to start his own business in the spare bedroom of a beachfront rental more than three decades ago.
In time, John established a career as a highly sought after communications consultant and leadership coach, where he had the privilege of working with senior leaders in virtually every industry from pharmaceutical to real estate, packaged goods to automobiles, and finance to healthcare.
John has written two books on the topic of grace as a secular force for good. Grace Notes: Leading in an Upside-Down World focuses on how leaders overcome adversity in times of crisis. His previous book on the topic is GRACE: A Leader’s Guide to a Better Us. GRACE mixes stories of everyday heroes with interviews with noted thought leaders. The result are practical insights into generosity, respect and compassion coupled with the energy and actions it takes to deliver on these virtues.
John’s 2014 MOXIE: The Secret of Bold and Gusty Leadership, which explores the grit and determination leaders need to exert to overcome challenges. Blending real-life stories with research and interviews, John provides a roadmap for how leaders can lead with greater awareness, more determined purpose and focused engagement in order to achieve inspired results. MOXIE earned a coveted 5-star review by Success magazine.
His tenth book, Lead With Purpose: Giving Your Organization a Reason to Believe in Itself, solidified John’s reputation for blending thought-provoking ideas with pragmatic advice.
