Climate change is coming up as a major issue these days. People are getting itchy eyes, skin rashes, and even serious diseases like asthma just by going out. We have been corrupting our environment recklessly. Humans have become a virus for mother nature.

02:31- What are some challenges we face when we talk about climate change?

• Climate change affects everything. We all rely on a stable climate.
• The science is really clear that human activities are warming our planet through fossil fuel combustion, wide-scale deforestation, etc.
• We’re currently putting around sort of 50-million tons of CO2 into the atmosphere every year.
• Our modern economy and civilization are driving global warming on the planet.
• We need to decarbonize our global economy by mid-century at the very latest which means decarbonizing all sectors.

10:57- Politicizing the issue of Climate Change

• I think in recent years, climate change has become politicized and polarized, in certain countries.
• It should not be the case because we all rely on a stable climate.
• These issues are systematic and interconnected.
• We need a wide range of solutions, given the scale of the challenge.

15:06- How technology is supporting climate change?

• A lot of conventional technologies have been accelerating the climate crisis.
• But in recent years, we’ve seen huge improvements in many technologies, forms of clean tech, that are starting to contribute to tackling climate change.
